Reduce Image File Size before you download

Pixplet lets you resize, crop, convert and compress an image in the same browser-based workflow. Upload your image, make any edits you need, then open Download and use the File size limit option before saving the final file.

Choose a practical file size limit in the Download window and Pixplet will try to keep the best possible quality while reducing the final file.

Best formats for smaller files

JPG and WebP work best for target file size compression because Pixplet can adjust the export quality before download.

  • Export as JPG for photos and everyday images.
  • Export as WebP when you want modern web-friendly compression.
  • Use PNG when transparency is important, but switch to WebP or JPG for smaller target sizes.
  • Use 1× export when file size matters more than extra sharpness.

How to compress an image in Pixplet

  1. Open an image in Pixplet.
  2. Keep the original size or resize the canvas if the image is too large.
  3. Click Download.
  4. Choose JPG or WebP when you need a smaller file.
  5. Select a file size limit such as Under 100 KB, Under 200 KB, Under 500 KB or Custom KB.
  6. Download the compressed image when the result is ready.

If a very large image cannot reach the selected target size, Pixplet will tell you clearly. In that case, use smaller dimensions, WebP, JPG or a higher limit.

Open the editor only when you are ready

This page gives you the right context first. When you click the main button, Pixplet opens the editor with the matching preset or format selected, so the actual editing workspace stays clean and focused.

  • Upload a JPG, PNG, WebP or GIF image.
  • Use the suggested preset or set your own width and height.
  • Crop, reposition, adjust and add simple design layers.
  • Export a finished PNG, JPG or WebP file.

Private by design

Pixplet is built around a fast browser-based workflow for everyday publishing images. It is made for quick edits, clear sizes and simple exports without forcing a heavy design project.
