Which file format do I receive?
The compressor produces JPG files. Transparent areas use the background colour you select. Use a PNG converter if transparency must be preserved.
Can every image be made smaller?
No. An already optimised image can become larger. The result shows the original and new size, so you can decide whether to keep it.
Are my files uploaded?
No. Conversion takes place in your browser. Pixplet does not receive the files you choose. Results use temporary storage in your browser, not your account. Download them before leaving this page; clearing the result set removes its temporary files.
Exports do not retain EXIF metadata, camera location, colour profiles or editable layers. Images use your browser colour handling. Animated PNG and WebP are not supported.
