Make a poster that earns a second look

A poster needs a clear reason to stop and read. Start with the event or message, make that headline the most prominent element, then give the date, venue and next step their own space. Choose artwork that supports the announcement instead of competing with it.

Check the design at a small size and from a distance. If the details become hard to read, shorten the text and strengthen the contrast. Keep a photograph away from small lettering, or place the text on a solid background. Preview the full-size export before sharing.

For a digital poster, PNG keeps lettering crisp and JPG works well for photographs. For print, confirm the required dimensions and resolution with your printer. You can combine exported poster images into a PDF when you need a document for review.
